Tack room
Here you can have a closer look at the miniature tack and accessories I have to go with my animals, meticulously handcrafted by various artesans around the world (and occasionally me). Tack through the years solely of my own making has a separate section on my main website.

1:9 historical Arabian set made in 2022 by Christèle Othon of Djedarabian costumes, France. This Syrian type set is a lookalike of a real one gifted in the 1960's by HE Sherif Nasser bin Jamil of Jordan to Margaret Marshall, USA. It displays traditional geometric and floral motifs on the panels, faithfully adapted to scale in Christèle's delicate hand-embroidery. The panel tassel colours approximate those of the big set's silk tassels before sun and age faded them.
The breastcollar is of a design scarcely seen anymore, with long untied fringes backing the front tassels. Many historical photos from turn-of-the-century Syria show this type of collar. |
1:9 Syrian type Arabian tack set, made by an unknown maker, likely European around 2010. If you've enlightened guesses on who made this wonderful little set, I'd be glad to hear them. I bought this set damaged from Germany, and have since re-wrapped some of the badly glue-yellowed white rope ends; lengthened the nose chain at the ends; added breastcollar rings; as well as stirrups & leathers.

1:9 Egyptian style presentation set made in 2016 by Melissa Halvas of Arabesque Model Horse Miniatures, USA. Features trinkets and evil eye charms over the nose, handmade pom-poms, and intricate multicoloured thread wrapping, all flourishes typical of Melissa's superb craftsmanship.

1:9 Western set by Alysia Teller of New Age Saddlery, USA. This was created sometime from late 2013 to early 2014, and according to Ms. Teller was dyed in a custom antiqued highlight color that she would seldom use.
I later hunted down a matching roping breastcollar and back cinch of later manufacture by the same maker, widening the set's use to light ranch disciplines. Shown in the last picture as a pleasure set with a snaffle, mecate and pad made by me in 2021. |
1:9 Western pleasure set by Donna Hutchins of ShadowCatStudios, USA. It is one of her very first saddles, and has held up very well. You'll have to excuse the doll's incorrect hold of the reins in the last picture, that's my blunder.

Western pleasure rider modified from a pink fashion doll by me in 2022. I chopped up and resculpted the body; sculpted it a new mohair-coiffured head, hands, hat & boots; and clad it with the help of my mother, who sewed the shirt (thanks ma!). The brooch magnets on and off for switching into a wild rag for Ranch disciplines. Her incorrect rein hold in these pictures is my blunder.

1:9 Portuguese set made in 2018 by Mélanie Touchard of Orcanie Studio, France. I haven't yet a suitably sized Iberian to wear it on, so the fit in these pictures here does the set little justice, and the larger browband is only a provisionary one. This traditional set has a saddle with the traditional deep seat and beautiful linen-lined panels, real fur xairxel and decorative cut-to-shape bridle, breastcollar & crupper. The mosquero & mane roll are my own temporary additions.

English saddle created by Steffi Honrath of Gut Goldbach, Germany. It is early work by her, but still classically beautiful. Shown here with a Freda/Suna bridle (shown in further detail below) and a girth by me. The leg wraps are from Ute PH of Lowlandranch, Germany. Pictures by Aleksander Freda & me.

1:9 halter-bridle built in 2017 by Aleksander Freda of Dark Pegasus Studio, with clip-on reins by Anna Suna modified by me (with permission). Pictures by Aleksander & me.

1:9 black-and-neon green sidepull bridle made in 2018 by Aleksander Freda of Dark Pegasus Studio.

Camping pictures taken in 2021 with a 1:9 miniature tent, Breyer Rambo blanket, and miscellaneous hoarded & made miniatures. The camp settled for the night, horses on the highline with hay, saddles and boots drying, pots and pans scrubbed... Now a while yet for chatter in the sleeping bags, then a night of well-deserved rest.

1:9 leather halter made in 2018 by Mélanie Touchard of Orcanie Studio, France. This one was a surprise gift from Mélanie; the brown-and-black leather halter shown in the last picture was likewise a gift to Aleksander Freda of Dark Pegasus Studio, whose palomino horse models it in that picture together with my appaloosa. Pictures by Aleksander & me.

1:9 hi-viz breakaway halter built in 2018 by Aleksander Freda of Dark Pegasus Studio, with a lambskin nose cover added by me (with permission). Newmarket blanket by Breyer.

1:9 blue leather halter made in 2018 by Aleksander Freda of Dark Pegasus Studio. I've not yet owned a horse which it doesn't suit.

Grosgrain stable halter by Marta Kirkor of The Resin Hart, Poland. Rambo blanket by Breyer. Pictures by Aleksander Freda & me.
