Ламія / Lamija
Lamija is a Wilga resin resculpted by me in 2018, and painted by me and Aleksander of Dark Pegasus Studio to a wild bay Ukrainian Hucul fresh from a mudbath. She's resculpted with a turned head (an idea I got only after the horse was halfway in paint, which eventually proved no obstacle - see last gallery), swished tail and a missing eye.
137cm tall in 1:12 scale. This copy was number 29 in the edition. Below are pictures of her in Poland in 2018, in some wearing a Polish "locally made" halter I crafted after photographs of real ones. The waterfall photo was taken in Dolina Strążyska, the Tatra Mountains, with me on my knees balancing on two rocks in the stream, propping my camera just above the surface of the water with one submerged hand, keeping the other at the ready should the stream pull my pony under.. Unlike it looks in the picture, the place was very much not devoid of fellow tourists.

In Poland, 2018. Some of the pictures are from her "native" Tatra mountains. The peak shown is Giewont, 1 895 meters high. (I climbed it!) The village pictures were taken in the splendid Kashubian Ethnographical Park outdoor museum of Wdzydze Kiszewskie (link) founded in 1906.
Doing ścieżka huculska in the summer of '21. Wading into a chest-high water or mud pit (with or without scary rubber ducks in it) and out again while opening and closing a gate is one of the possible tasks in the obstacle course (próba dzielności, bravery test) part of the sport. You can see this done in real life here (opens in new window) if you like in photographs by the Polish photographer Paulina Peckiel - the little house jump also makes an apprerance. If you go through the pages, the horses get increasingly mud-caked..
The sidepull & saddle in these pictures are by Silver Stallion Saddlery. The doll was clad my my mother, Aleksander Freda of Dark Pegasus Studio and me. I made the gate, fences, pallets, flags & saddle pad as well as decorated & weathered the house jump & tyres.

In the making, back in 2018. The idea to turn her head and swish her tail was born a little late, with the horse already well into basepaint. Off with her head, nevertheless. A peg had to be drilled into her hip too, for the tail. The colour took a bit of matching between the pre-painted body & new neck, but Aleksander Freda of Dark Pegasus Studio lent me his expertise with that. Lastly, the mess of ideas this horse is was crowned with a mess of mud for a finish.
Information for the Pedigree Assignment hobby:
Lamija is a Ukrainian Hucul born in 2013. Wild bay (EeAA), Malisz® (2001 UKR, Szarik - Malina) - Kamelia® (2009 UKR, Pedro - Kati). 137cm at the withers. Unshown for now. One-eyed through accident rather than by congenital defect. Her pedigree consists of relatively scarce Czech & Slovak breeding on top, with Polish over unidentified Ukrainian local stock on the bottom. Her sire's dam's side is heavily linebred, but there is nearly no inbreeding elsewhere in her pedigree. (Lamija’s parents’ 6-gen inbreeding coefficient is 0,0%.)
Open 2017-2028 to Huculs of any country, and for other riding pony breeding. Showable body for foals preferred; photo requested for bloodstock classes. 2017 - reserved.
